We believe that we and our five daughters have been
well and truly SHAFTED at
Penarth Marina
Cardiff Bay Wales by
property developers, Crest
Nicholson.
Crest Nicholson are
presently under new ownership of VARDE INVESTMENT PARTNERS. Varde Partners
manages distressed debt funds. Crest Nicholson has had many owners over the last
few years but this latest turn of events was a deal struck between them,
Varde and
Lloyds TSB Bank - the most immediate - and former owners of Crest Nicholson,
who were themselves having a few financial difficulties!!!
It is a matter of
public record that Lloyds was bailed by the UK Government, using the monies
of the people - that's our money!
Also, over the years
of this sorry saga, we have seen the likes of HBOS Plc and
West Coast Capital
- ('Castle
Bidco') and their erstwhile subsidiary company,
Crest Nicholson Marinas Limited, (since reformed under a new name as Quay Marinas Limited,)
all of them, have turn a blind eye to our
fair campaign for social justice. There are others too. Cardiff County
Council, Vale of Glamorgan Council, South Wales Police, The Environment
Agency, Her Majesty's Coast Guard, two Prime Ministers, a local Member of
Parliament, you name it...they all know that what happened to our family and
houseboat at Penarth Marina in Cardiff Bay, was wicked, but they have all
done nothing?
Our own dream houseboat-home and all our Family life-time personal
possessions were seized,
and disposed of. How is that lawful? How is that legal?
We are having to come to terms with the total cessation of our
once beautiful and dedicated way of life, 14 continuous years in houseboat-living.
In the circumstances, having lost everything, we think we are doing
'alright'. Up until the eviction, our five children had only ever lived this way of life.
Nevertheless, We all still miss it so dearly. We wish we still had our 7 pet goldfish,
which were also seized. To the best of our knowledge, we are still prevented by Court injunction from visiting
Penarth Marina.
What's wrong with the United Kingdom? Why has no Court,
or any public figure in Authority, yet to stand up for what is right and
decent? What's happened to the idea of, and the basic Human Rights of 'RESPECT'?
We are ordinary people.
In view of the various scandals of people in public office since our
eviction, it seems more clear than ever that there are unspoken rules in this country. Poker-Law
exists! It seems that the side with the most money, privilege and influence,
always gets the 'winning' result, Justice of the wallet!
Despite,
(at the time of legal proceedings) qualifying for, and being in receipt of, a full-time student loan, our Family
was barred from receiving legal aid. According to the rules of eligibility, we 'earned' too much! Since when has it been the case that money borrowed, is said to be earnings? What is the United Kingdom, this great country coming to? Where is there any Social Justice? Who are the real bullies in our
so-called civilised society?
We have yet to find anyone in authority, (including our own Member of Parliament, Mr. Alun Michael,) who is able to demonstrate, that they are either politically motivated, practically interested, or committed enough, (even on a humanitarian level,) to champion the aims of our Family Campaign for
Social Justice. Let's face it, what happened is wrong. Why the silence? Ours is a simple call, for a 'Fair and Just Solution', to end this deeply personal, Family nightmare.
Perhaps Varde Investment Partners may
insist on a different approach? Perhaps, you would be be kind enough to ask
