Dear Mr. McGowan,
Re-Pavilion ZD 8000 (8053EA) Graphics Display Problem
With reference to the above I would like to express my deepest thanks to you and your fellow staff at Hewlett Packard. Thank you for rectifying the situation. I am delighted with the result.
As you are aware, my Family and I have been using your HP Pavilion product quite extensively to run our ‘Family Campaign for Social Justice’ website at http://www.mvpicton.co.uk . Accordingly, we are most grateful to have had our laptop equipment safely returned and more importantly, our personal data and campaign materials safely restored to us.
Although we may have shared a few challenges over the past three months, in clarifying records and the like, I am particularly moved by the considerable respect you have shown to me as a Hewlett Packard customer. It seems all too common these days that commercial enterprise does not listen to the customer and ‘fair play’ seems to take a back seat. However, your patience and understanding are a credit to you and the Hewlett Packard Company. Your recent approach in dealing with this matter is a welcome return to what seems like, ever-diminishing, ‘old fashioned’ values.
In these particular circumstances I cannot help but be reminded of the comments made by Susan Packard-Orr, (daughter of the late David Packard, Co-Founder of the Hewlett Packard Company – representing the Packard Family of the Packard Foundation), when she was presented with the ‘Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy’ at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh 2005.

Highly commended by Sir Tom Hunter, she passed comments about the “HP Way” and of, community and customer, “values”. From my recent experience with you and Hewlett Packard, I am delighted to inform, that you have most certainly restored my faith in the ‘HP Way’ of doing things. Based on merit alone, I sincerely hope that others may take your lead.
Once again, on behalf of my wife and our five daughters, thank you Mr. McGowan, thank you Hewlett Packard.
Kind regards,
Vince ShalomPlease Note Sir Tom Hunter now 'owns' the Crest Nicholson Group via Castle Bidco/ Bank of Scotland/ West Coast Capital
