Crest Nicholson Chief Executive to Resign
The company have announced at the following link:

Mr. John Callcutt Chief Executive of Crest Plc
"The Victorian view of heartless entrepreneurs is redundant. Companies need a new approach and I do not think of myself as creepy."
His reported comments when asked about whether a building firm could make such demands on state agencies....such as the police.
John will 'step sideways' from his Executive post on 31st October 2005 to become Deputy Chair of Crest Plc.
This will be just three days after the 2nd Anniversary of the Family Houseboat Eviction from Penarth Marina Wales.
Along with Mr. Tony Blair, Mr. John Prescott and throughout the trade and the construction industry, John Callcutt will be remembered, not least, for his excellent contribution in introducing the Crest Nicholson 'Concept Scheme'. A scheme in which new, mixed-use sustainable developments would be created, whereby people would "want to live". He is acclaimed as an 'urban regeneration' specialist.
The Shalom Family and their five children presently remember Mr. Callcutt as the man solely responsible for NOT properly enforcing health & safety in the Crest Group especially at the time of the night-time grounding 'accident' to their houseboat Picton. This was at Penarth Marina where the Family 'wanted', but more importantly, were invited to live by the company.
We recall his organisations' failure to grant permission for the Shaloms to lift their home out of the water at Penarth Marina in order that they themselves could fix any damage, and the leak which had developed, subsequent to that accident. This would have enabled the Family to obtain insurance. Peter Nicholson's Royal National Lifeboat Institute (R.N.L.I.) could do it for the Barry Dock Lifeboat, so why not the Shalom Family Home? There really were no technical reasons, it was only ever just a Beauty Competition, despite the company approving the design build of Picton before it entered Penarth Marina!
We presently remember John Callcutt for presiding over an organisation, which although being fully informed at all times of the exact situation, chose to refuse to accept the mooring fees, yet felt it necessary to drag the Family through a Court of Law, to charge them with trespass.
We presently remember Mr. Callcutt as the man who failed to implement a high standard of health & safety at the Penarth Marina and took six years to accept that his organisation was "wrong" to have ever allowed the Family to settle at Penarth marina in the first place.
As Mr. Callcutt no doubt prepares to tidy his desk and expects to be congratulated upon his many years dedicated service to the company, we hope that he can be 'instrumental' once again, in tidying up other areas of immoral works? Perhaps he and his organisation could do this with a touch more humanity, compassion and forbearance than presently documented to the record? Please feel free to encourage John Callcutt and Crest Nicholson to do just that!
Two years on*, the Family have still not received any of their personal effects and possessions seized. In spite of photographic and documented evidence presented to Alun Michael MP, (ask him here!) and Parliament, (who still appear to be doing nothing to help this situation,) representatives of the High Court Sheriff, appear to be beyond reproach or accountability, with their documented false statement as to the whereabouts of the Family personal possessions. The Family home of 14 years has been destroyed, the whereabouts of the children's 7 pet goldfish are still unknown....perhaps they have been dumped in Cardiff Bay, Europe's Most Exciting Waterfront Development?
No offer of Fair and Just compensation, or Alternative Dispute Resolution has been put forward by anyone, except the Family.
Congratulations, well wishes and your encouragements via e-mail may be sent to Mr. Callcutt at Crest Headquarters via his personal Secretary.
*Clarification: October 28th 2003 was Houseboat Eviction and April 21st 2004 Houseboat and Possessions Seizure
