URGENT
Dear Your Royal Highness, Sir,
The Shalom Family Campaign for Social Justice Wales
Our Letter of Appeal to You as President of Business in the Community
30th June 2005
With reference to the above, we have spoken today with Ms. Jan Hook of Buckingham Palace correspondence unit regarding our official letter of appeal to you over one year ago. Most regrettably, she has confirmed what we feared most. We understand that you have not seen nor had the benefit of a copy of our original appeal asking you for your help as President of Business In The Community (BITC).
Whilst we hope that you will appreciate our frustration, one year on, we are satisfied that this explains why we have never received so much as a courteous response from you.
However, today Ms. Hook has kindly invited us to send copy of relevant correspondence to your Clarence House address, which we are happy to do, as enclosed. In the circumstances, we would be most grateful to receive an acknowledgment.
For the benefit of doubt, we kindly ask that you please consider the true worth and moral merit in our cause for Social Justice from Crest Nicholson Plc. We kindly invite you to visit the Family Campaign website at http://www.mvpicton.co.uk .
Although presently not full members of Business In The Community, we understand that HBOS Plc, Legal and General Group Plc and Lloyds TSB Group Plc were all institutional investors with Crest Nicholson, during the process of our eviction. We confirm that each corporate enterprise is aware of our Family Campaign for Social Justice from Crest Plc.
We kindly ask that you lend your support and encouragement to our Family Campaign for Social Justice by any means.
We should like to confirm that with our five daughters, Hannah, Naomi, Rachel, Rebekah and Jessica, who have had to endure so much heartache in the uncertainty of losing all of their personal possessions, (and the only Home they had known since birth too!) we very much regret having to bother you at all. We do not wish to inconvenience you. We would just like to be enabled to get on with our lives. Nevertheless, in the circumstances, we thank you for this opportunity of receiving a copy of our original appeal afresh.
We seek only what is fair, moral and just, in our Family Campaign for Social Justice from Crest Nicholson Plc.
Finally, we hope and trust that you will discuss this matter with Michael Rake, Chair of Business in The Community and Julia Cleverdon CVO, its Chief Executive Officer. Perhaps between your good self and the BITC organisation as a whole, some way can indeed be found to encourage Crest Plc institutional investors to reconsider our appeal. From the point of view of their individual corporate ethical policies, regarding Ethical Investments, or with the BITC, Best Business Practice and/or Corporate Social Responsibility agenda in mind, we believe that something more positive is possible.
If you have any queries or concerns please contact us at any time. We look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Yours sincerely,
Marie Louise and Vincent Shalom
With our Daughters
