Welcome to Crest of Beauty (M V Picton Web)

This website and its domain name were originally set up and created by an independent group of people, who had been touched by the Shalom Family's dilemma and simply wished to help. The matter is still far from being satisfactorily resolved. The Shalom Family have finally become separated from their own home. Their dream is in ruins and their life-time personal belongings are scattered, still not returned to them after having been seized at the instruction of Crest Plc Associates! It has become increasingly clear that the whole situation is quite detailed in nature and involves several third parties. In order to maximize the accuracy of information updates, and to make best possible use of direct web-publishing, full administrator privileges have been provided directly to the Shalom Family with immediate effect.

To mark this event we have made a slight change in the overall presentation of the site but previous content is reproduced. We do hope the slight change will be seen as an improvement along with the other new features, of 'I Want to Help', 'Feedback' , and 'Photo Gallery' links.

We also endeavor to report accurately [E&OE], and if you find any inaccuracies or aspects that you think are not fair and balanced please email us. If we uphold any complaint we commit to report reasonable counter points and to remove any material which is found to be wrong, misleading or illegal. Please notify us if you discover any broken links too, thank you!

Extracts from the Crest Nicholson group or other websites remain the property of respective companies. In the public interest copyright is waived on all other material upon the strict condition that, in any event, our fundamental human rights of respect and privacy, are observed and upheld.

For the benefit of doubt, we make no claim of being skilled in the presentation of website design or make any claims of being beautiful in any other way whatsoever. We consider ourselves to be an ordinary Family who just happened to live on a boat, our own houseboat.  Let's also be perfectly clear, we would rather not be doing this at all. Quite simply, we believe that if something so wrong did not happen to us as a Family and our Home, we would not be here doing this. Somebody decided that our Home was just not beautiful enough! Upon this fact alone, it was decided that our houseboat should be removed from the prestigious Penarth Marina in Cardiff Bay, Wales, UK.

The manner in which our Home was removed was behind a 'smoke screen' - regarding issues of health & safety and about our houseboat not being insured. In fact, we paid for a professional and special damage-survey report. This was commissioned subsequent to the grounding incident caused by Crest Nicholson (they do not like to talk about their cock-up) when we discovered our home was leaking. In view of this professional report we had no reason to believe that our houseboat was unsafe. Apart from that major grounding incident caused by Crest Nicholson Marinas Limited, the deterioration in health and safety standards at Crest Nicholson's' Penarth marina, were even sufficient for Mr. John Callcutt, Crest Plc Group Chief Executive Officer, to make late comment, "we do not believe a commercial marina is a suitable or safe environment to bring up a young family". Exactly 7 (seven) years had passed since we entered Penarth marina. For a man whose duties included being solely responsible for implementing health and safety in the Crest Group of companies, his moral statement, (whether guided by his organisations' incapability to implement health and safety at Penarth marina, or not,) came seven years too late for our family.

We are forced to accept that our houseboat home and our dream is gone. With our children, we would like to adjust and rebuild our lives. We seek to do this in a dignified manner, with what little we have left to build with. In the circumstances, having lost almost everything, it would seem that we only have our voice left.

It continues to be the sole intention of the Shalom Family and the only purpose of this website, to raise public awareness of what has happened (and why) to a perfectly safe and satisfactory Family Home of 14 years. We believe that Crest Nicholson Marinas Limited, fully supported by Crest Plc, decided, only after, they had made major mistakes, that our home was not beautiful enough for their prestigious marina. We reject any and all claims made by Crest Plc and Associates, that our houseboat M V Picton was ever unsafe. However, the documented evidence clearly demonstrates that their marina operations were unsafe. Now without our home, we seek only a Fair and Just solution. More than three years on, (October 28th 2003) you may see our third eviction 'anniversary' was marked by peaceful petition here.

Please join us in our campaign! Have a good look around all the 'high-lighted' links. The detail is important. We hope it will help you appreciate why we would go to such lengths as this. Please help us in our Family Campaign for Justice. At the very least we have lost our own decent Family Home. We believe we are reasonably entitled to expect fair and just compensation in some form or another. Most importantly, we believe it should be provided by those who readily accept that they made mistakes, who admit that they were "wrong", those who caused accidents and those, who we believe, made all this happen in the first place.  Apart from being 'robbed' of our own decent Home, which was our property, (without any debt,) we have lost a beautiful way of life too. This aspect is especially true for our five young daughters. We say again, that all of what has happened has been done for no other reason, than a corporate beauty competition.

A PUBLIC WARNING We wish to warn the general public about the companies, Crest Plc and Crest Nicholson Marinas Limited. We did not believe that this would happen to us, not even in our wildest dreams, but then came Crest and Associates with their admitted mistakes and dangerous incidents. In pursuit of our campaign aims and in the wider public interest, we are compelled to share the challenges we have faced. For us and our daughters it is also a matter of personal and Family integrity, for we did no wrong but speak up! We believe, and hope that you will discover, that the 'Crest of beauty' at issue here, is not very beautiful at all!

A PUBLIC INVITATION To Lester Aldridge Solicitors and Equinox Public Relations. From a very early course in the proceedings both of your organisations have been respectfully invited to avail your good selves of all details pertaining to the case. For whatever reason, both of your organisations have so far declined. We again invite you to revisit and witness, the disgraceful conduct of your erstwhile client. We hope that your respective firms have been paid-off very well.

We hope we have set out the links in the site under simple-to-follow headings but as a guide, we hope this also helps:-

A Note of Special Thanks

M V Picton Web was created by strangers for strangers. We are indebted to them for their strength and support but above all, their moral perception of what unjust events have taken place at the hands of those who should know the difference between fair and unfair, right and wrong. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to them for their faith in us as individuals and as a mark of our respect, we are happy to include the following and original, web-design element. The Son.

Please note. We use the term 'SHAFTED' strictly to denote the meaning, that something, not very beautiful, has taken place.
